DaDaLesque
DaDaFest set out to break new ground with this event by exzploring issues around sexuality in disability performance.
This event, compered by our own patron Mat Fraser, brought spectacular performances by disabled burlesque dancers mixed with comedy. The overall atmosphere was lively and fun. Diva Hollywood did a rendition of the evolution of women, where she transformed from a cave woman into a sophisticated lady by wearing the feared red stilettos. There was some spectacular aerial acrobatics by Amilie Soliel amongst the audience. Millie Dollar led us through a history of burlesque with a balloon dance and her mesmerizing fan dance. Mat Fraser even got involved with a sensual striptease where he lost all his clothes including his prosthetic arms.
Mat Fraser's immortal words - 'We've done the social model. Now it's time for disabled people to get their kit off.'
