DaDaVerse
A great evening of poetry was enjoyed by all present. Presented by Julie MacNamara and RogerCliffe-Thompson, we saw six great poets perform a wonderful range of poetry from improvisation to rap and Shakespearean shopping trollies, open mic slots by Billy Moon, Maria Slater, Chantelle Rea Bradley.
With the poetry in motion herself Millie Dollar dancing bulesque.
Poem read by Chantelle Rea Bradley
Last night I had a hissy fir-you know the type!
I can't, I won't, I'm not able, that kind or tripe.
But DaDaFest was waiting, screaming in my ears
'It's now or never you know; if you don't go there'll be tears!'
So i went and I was late, and it was worth it and I'm glad.
Better to be late than stay at home with me heating pad.
Better to fight, to try, to struggle, to not submit.
Better to go to a place where I have a permit.
No! Not a blue badge or DLA
A permit to be human and do things my way.
A permit that says I can laugh-even when I hurt
that i can still feel sexy, or even flirt.
I felt damned depressed till you gave me dada-optimism
I felt damned apathetic till you gave me dada-activity
I felt damned dreadful till you made me dada-licious
I felt damned disabled till you made me dada-different
So daDaFest 2007
You are my bit of heaven.
So when it's over I will wait
with anticip....ation for 2008!!
