Callout for artists
DaDaFest is inviting calls of interest from Disabled/Deaf artists and companies to take part in this year's festival.
The Festival will explore three themes:
Reflect - on our past lives as Disabled people and how our lives have been by and large hidden within negative systems of control and dependency which has given us a 'lost' history.
Muse - think through our current world position as Disabled people and how our voices are emerging through the impact of the arts and digital media.
Imagine - a world without barriers where we as Disabled artists and people can participate fully and contribute and influence the artistic development of the 21st Century.

Overview
DaDaFest is the largest celebration of Disability and Deaf art in the UK bringing together internationally acclaimed top class professional artists, local home grown talent, and up and coming young disabled people. DaDaFest has become so successful and well known it won the Mersey Tourism Award for Best Small Event 2005. Events this year include Performance, Comedy, Dance, Music, Sculpture, Film, Photography, and Poetry.
The main concept of the festival is:
* To develop a festival that celebrates Disability & Deaf Arts led by Disabled and Deaf arts practitioners and organisations
* To celebrate, promote and support Disability and Deaf Arts as distinct cultural diversities
* To encourage mainstream arts venues and organisations to celebrate our cultures by bringing understanding and experiences to the issues that prevent Disabled and Deaf people accessing arts activities and by programming the work of Disabled and Deaf artists.
